COVID-19 Corona Virus Information

Guidance on CBP’s seaport inspectional processes that will take effect immediately:

For cargo ships arriving from COVID-19 travel suspended countries, CBP is delaying the inspection of the crew until 14-days after foreign departure.  The crew remains onboard until inspected.  All vessels will be required to submit a security plan to include the hiring of additional guards for all vessels arriving from suspended countries.  Once the 14-day mark is passed, CBP will inspect the crew and may issue landing permits (if there are no other concerns).  In some cases the ship may depart the port before 14-days and in those cases the crew is remaining on board for the duration.

This applies to vessels arriving from, and any crew joining the vessel from listed in the following statement:

Presidential Proclamations have placed entry restrictions from persons arriving from or through the following countries: Iran, China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau), the European states within the Schengen Area {Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland), and beginning at 11:59 p.m. eastern standard daylight savings time on March 16, 2020, United Kingdom and Republic of

Ireland. All persons that have been in or through a country listed above may be subject to CDC screening prior to disembarkation .
